But then, one day, something happens that makes Shang-Chi look very differently at Katy.
And now they have to deal with the consequences of friends turning into lovers.
There are 15 chapters total, and this is part 11 in a large series about different Marvel characters.
5. what’s in a name?
This story takes place in an alternate universe where soulmates are a real thing, and they show identifying marks.
Katy receives her soulmate mark on her 18th birthday, which is in Chinese and says Shang-Chi.
Shang-Chi is her best friend, and he does not want this to change the friendship they have.
However, he has been in love with her for many years and is unsure what to do.
But now Katy goes out of her way to find her soulmate, leaving Shang-Chi heartbroken.
The story is seven chapters long and goes off canon for most of the story.
Even though it differs from the original movie, the characters feel real and true to their origin.
6. Spiderwebs and Stolen Vehicles
In this crossover between Shang-Chi and Spider-man, we see a funny story come to life.
Katy and Shang-Chi are in a car, with Katy driving, when they hit someone.
As it turns out, this someone is Peter Parker, and they decide to put Peter in the car with them and figure out what to do.
Fortunately, he isn’t hurt badly, mostly because of his superpowers and the group decides to hang out together.
The story is part 1 in the “Asians and An Abnormal Teen Commit Felonies” series.
And it contains several fun adventures Shang-Chi and his friends go on.
7. beautiful you are my world, my true
This fanfic is a true friends-to-lovers story about Katy Chen and Shang-Chi.
It starts near the end of the movie and continues after.
Katy now knows everything about Shang-Chi, there are no more secrets between them.
So he feels he has to be honest about his feelings for her.
It takes some adjusting to the situation, but they are sure they can find a way to make it work.

It is six chapters long and reads easily and it is just a sweet and romantic story.
8. Avenger Potential? Maybe, He’s Crazy Enough
Here we have another crossover between multiple MCU movies and shows like:
- Moon Knight

The main characters are Marc Spector and Steven Grant from Moon Knight.
Marc does not want to be a part of the Avengers, he actually wants to avoid them as best as possible.

And somehow, he does get sucked into it all and ends up working with some of the new Avengers.
9. Sing You a Song of Devotion
Shang-Chi can’t stay in America and will be deported back to China.
To ensure this does not happen, Katy Chen agrees to marry him to get his green card.
But Shang-Chi does not want her to give up her whole future for him.
On the other hand, Katy isn’t worried at all and is willing to do everything to help her friend.
And who knows, maybe the marriage won’t end up being fake after all.

10. Shang-Chi Meets World
This story shows different scenarios where Katy and Shang-Chi meet some of the other Avengers.
And it is shown through the eyes of the other characters, giving the reader a feel for what they think of these strangers.
We see Sam Wilson, Peter Parker, Wong, and a few others as they first meet Shang-Chi and Katy and get to know each other better.
The story contains a lot of humor, witty remarks, and sweet moments.
So far, the six chapters of this fun story read very easily.
