Along with the completed web series, there is a whole world of Worm and Parahuman fanfiction out there.

But in this post, I will be writing about some of the most popular Worm fanfiction according to hits received in Archive Of Our Own.

Keep reading to find out more about some of these amazing and original stories.

1. Brockton’s Celestial Forge

The writer in this story didn’t really take a main character from the original story.

Instead they took the existing world an placed different characters they came up with inside Brockton Bay.

This way they are able to use the world created in the story and the available gifts, but gave it a whole different twist.

The most original thing about this story is that every chapter ends with a description of jumpchain abilities.

It is almost as if you are in a game that tells you all the upgrades you just got.

The story is told from different points of view that switch a lot during the story.

This gives a complete look on the world and what all characters are going through.

There are already 102 chapters with over 241,000 hits making this one of the most popular fanfics about the subject.

2. Cenotaph

The main character in this story is Taylor Hebert.

The original Worm series also revolves around Taylor and her powers.

For the most part, we read the story from the perspective of Taylor.

This causes the reader to see the world, and the bugs, the way Taylor does.

In most cases, this is very different from how the rest of the world sees it.

This story was written back in 2014.

And it is the first part of the memorials series.

So if you enjoyed this one, be sure to check out the rest of the series.

3. Just a Phase

In this story we follow Taylor after she joined the Wards.

She finds out that they are playing a strange game she is not willing to play.

This causes some problems for her, but also makes this story so very interesting.

There are also a few original characters in this story that only pay a small part, but are still important to the story.

The writer stated that this work was inspired by several other fanfics about the Parahuman.

The story contains 11 chapters for now.

It has been a while since something new showed up in this story even though the writer makes a comment about the story not being done yet.

4. Taylor Varga

Taylor Hebert, Danny Hebert and Luna Varga are the main characters in this story.

Her bullies leave Taylor in a locker where she sends out a cry for help.

What she didn’t expect was the help she then receives.

This story is a bit of a mash up between Worm and Wildbow.

The writer started this story in 2016 and has been updating it ever since.

It now contains a massive 432 chapters.

So if you are in the mood for a long story, then this is absolutely the one for you.

5. Constellations

This story is a crossover between Worm and Okami.

When Taylor is at summer camp she meets a wolf.

But not just any wolf, it is Okami.

It is really just a lovely story about friendship even in hard times.

And it has a big fanbase with over 140,000 hits so far.

The writer started the story in 2016.

And even though that is a long time ago, the story continues.

6. Manager

Here we have a different take on the powers Taylor has.

Instead of already having the powers manifested, she is still trying to figure out what she wants and can do.

But this comes at a cost when she finds out she can somehow leach powers and make them her own.

Taylor’s shard is the administrator and this gives her a whole new world of possibilities.

This story has 85 finished chapters in total.

The writer keeps you interested during all these chapters and does know how to write an original story.

And although the story has come to an end, it is still worth your time to check it out.

7. The Warcrafter

This is another crossover story, this time between Worm and World of Warcraft.

We follow Adrian as he hears a voice.

This voice calles itself ‘Agent’ and they are trying to convince Adrian to play a game.

But a lot is at stake in this game.

The moment Adrian decides he is willing to play, he is pulled into the screen and ends up in the game itself.

He is now in the World of Warcraft but with the shards system like we see in Worm.

This makes it a very intriguing twist that can go in a lot of directions.

There are 34 chapters with over 126,000 hits already.

So it’s a very popular crossover between two extremely popular fandoms.

8. Silencio

In this version of the origin story, Taylor lost her voice because of an infection.

And of course, this also has a significant impact on the development of her powers.

There are many more characters you will recognize from the web series.

Most have the same traits and personalities as in the original stories.

And because of this there is also a large funny element to the story.

This is only part one in the Silencio series.

But it already covers 92 chapters and therefore is a large story.

If you enjoyed this story be sure to check out the rest of the series.

9. Legion

An extreme winter storm causes problems for Taylor while she is trapped inside the locker.

And in this story the weather actually almost kills her.

She needs to be reanimated and she finds herself in the hospital.

Throughout the story we have some flashbacks and then return to the present.

This gives a good idea about what happened to Taylor.

It also switches points of view a lot.

Taylor is still the main character in the story, but Amy also plays an important part.

There are 24 chapters in total and with over 104,000 hits it clearly deserves a spot in this list.

10. Wake

This is a part two of the ‘Memorials” series.

Because of this we start a bit in the middle of a story and an event.

I would also recommend reading the first part because that way the story will make more sense.

In this story we follow Gallant and Taylor.

Because Gallant is a large part of this story we also read it from his point of view.

And he sees the world without real color, which creates some difficulty.

The writer at some point changes the direction the story is going, creating a sort of genre switch.

From that point the story lingers more on the horror genre, making it very unique in this fandom.

If this has made you curious, be sure to read both parts of this series and decide for yourself.
